I've been taking photos of Syracuse for four years. It started with a conversation with Professor Sandra Lane who told me about health care disparities in the city. I started taking pictures of buildings, but the empty and abandoned houses and businesses are only part of the story. The people are another part. After many conversations with strangers, I got less scared about asking if they'd mind. Some people flat refuse, others, like these people say, "Go Ahead."
